Tobacco Manufacturing System
Our Tobacco Manufacturing System aims at increasing the efficiency of production through raise of the awareness about machines’ work with real-time, accurate information

The System
Produce Tobacco and Modern Oral Products With Less Stops
The system consists of software and hardware components that monitor the entire tobacco products manufacturing processes on an ongoing basis and provides full visibility of the production. Complete transparency of the factory within its employees, who can see the actual real-time effects of their actions, results in their increased active involvement in improvement of processes, minimization of most commonly occurring stoppages and significant increase in overall efficiency of the equipment and entire factory. Increase manufacturing volume of cigarettes, filters and modern oral products.
Proven solution
| Pain points | Solution | Benefits |
| Common line micro-stops. | Detection of all stops of machines with core reasons, statistics and analysis. | Increase OEE. |
| Lack of knowledge about production at any point of time. | Real-time data acquisition and calculation of KPIs, transparent factory. | Informed decision making. |
| Paper reports. | Digital dashboard and reports. OEE loss tree, drill-down analysis, dedicated reports, factories comparison. | Full visibility. |
| Common machine failures | Reporting and handling failures and predictive maintenance. CMMS and ANDON addon. | Increase MTBF. |
| Missed deadline, low production volume | SFT Integration. Production progress reporting. | Faster time to market delivery. |
Machine Connectivity
All Processes and Equipment Covered and Connected
Accevo connects high-speed tobacco equipment to a common data layer, combining PLC signals with operator input to produce reliable, real-time events for OEE, micro-stops, and shopfloor workflows. Accevo’s connectivity work in tobacco plants starts on the line, not in the reporting layer. The goal is to capture machine states and key counters directly from automation, then standardise them into consistent production events that can be compared across different machine types and lines.

Connect to the automation layer (PLC + devices)
Accevo connects to machines through PLC drivers, industrial communication protocols, and dedicated data acquisition modules, depending on what the line supports. This enables readouts such as machine state, speed, cycle/quantity counters, defect counters, and selected process parameters (for example weight, pressure, temperature, force).
Use edge devices when needed (compute close to the machine)
In tobacco environments with mixed machine parks and high-speed equipment, Accevo uses edge hardware (e.g. MOXA) to compute and preprocess data at machine level before it is sent upstream. This approach reduces latency, improves robustness, and supports consistent event creation even when machines expose different signals.
Buffering and resilience against network drops
Where the connection to the server is unstable or intermittent, Accevo’s connectivity layer can buffer data for a defined period. That prevents gaps in downtime and quantity history, which is critical when micro-stops and short losses matter.
Add what machines cannot tell you (operator panel input)
Not everything is available from PLCs (especially reasons, activities, and contextual actions). Accevo supplements machine signals with operator input via the operator panel, where the operator can record activities, call a technician, and follow the production process. This closes the loop between “what happened” (signals) and “why it happened” (human context).
Turn raw signals into usable production events
Raw signals are translated into events such as run / stop / micro-stop, counts, speeds, and alarms. The outcome is a data foundation that can feed performance monitoring and micro-stop analytics across a diverse machine landscape.
Designed to support tobacco operating standards
On the tobacco solution page, Accevo positions the suite as designed to raise awareness of machine work through real-time information supplemented by operator input, and notes alignment with IWS-oriented processes. Connectivity is the base layer that makes that practical: consistent, comparable, near-real-time line truth.

Kraków, Poland – ACCEVO, an
IT Solution For Tobacco
Real-time visibility and IWS-driven efficiency for tobacco operations
- Real-time production truth, not delayed reporting
- Built around IWS ways of working
- Shared visibility across the site, modular growth
Accevo Tobacco Suite aims mainly at increasing the efficiency of production through raising the awareness of machines’ work with real-time, accurate information supplemented by machine Operator’s input.
System has been designed to fully support IWS methodology and is constantly improved in that direction – it follows the processes, gathers the right data and presents it in a way that allows Business and Production to take conscious actions.
Thanks to the dedicated panels and advanced Operator Panel, the whole factory can have full visibility of production and machines’ states, which results in growing shared responsibility to increase the efficiency of the whole site.
System itself is divided into several modules for easy navigation and can be further developed by implementing ready “Addons” that add next functionalities and enhance the existing system.
