El sistema consta de componentes de software y hardware que supervisan de forma continua todos los procesos de fabricación de los productos del tabaco y proporcionan una visibilidad total de la producción. La total transparencia de la fábrica dentro de sus empleados, que pueden ver los efectos reales en tiempo real de sus acciones, tiene como resultado una mayor participación activa de éstos en la mejora de los procesos, la minimización de las paradas más frecuentes y un aumento significativo de la eficiencia general de los equipos y de toda la fábrica. Accevo conecta equipos de tabaco de alta velocidad a una capa de datos común, combinando señales de PLC con entradas de operador para producir eventos fiables en tiempo real para OEE, microparadas y flujos de trabajo en planta. El trabajo de conectividad de Accevo en las plantas de tabaco comienza en la línea, no en la capa de generación de informes. El objetivo es capturar los estados de la máquina y los contadores clave directamente desde la automatización, para después estandarizarlos en eventos de producción coherentes que puedan compararse entre distintos tipos de máquinas y líneas.

Conexión a la capa de automatización (PLC + dispositivos)
Accevo connects to machines through PLC drivers, industrial communication protocols, and dedicated data acquisition modules, depending on what the line supports. This enables readouts such as machine state, speed, cycle/quantity counters, defect counters, and selected process parameters (for example weight, pressure, temperature, force).

In tobacco environments with mixed machine parks and high-speed equipment, Accevo uses edge hardware (e.g. MOXA) to compute and preprocess data at machine level before it is sent upstream. This approach reduces latency, improves robustness, and supports consistent event creation even when machines expose different signals.

Where the connection to the server is unstable or intermittent, Accevo’s connectivity layer can buffer data for a defined period. That prevents gaps in downtime and quantity history, which is critical when micro-stops and short losses matter.

Not everything is available from PLCs (especially reasons, activities, and contextual actions). Accevo supplements machine signals with operator input via the operator panel, where the operator can record activities, call a technician, and follow the production process. This closes the loop between “what happened” (signals) and “why it happened” (human context).

Raw signals are translated into events such as run / stop / micro-stop, counts, speeds, and alarms. The outcome is a data foundation that can feed performance monitoring and micro-stop analytics across a diverse machine landscape.

Accevo Tobacco Suite aims mainly at increasing the efficiency of production through raising the awareness of machines’ work with real-time, accurate information supplemented by machine Operator’s input.
System has been designed to fully support IWS methodology and is constantly improved in that direction – it follows the processes, gathers the right data and presents it in a way that allows Business and Production to take conscious actions.
Thanks to the dedicated panels and advanced Operator Panel, the whole factory can have full visibility of production and machines’ states, which results in growing shared responsibility to increase the efficiency of the whole site.
System itself is divided into several modules for easy navigation and can be further developed by implementing ready “Addons” that add next functionalities and enhance the existing system.
